Teaching Matters

NZEI network for Primary teachers

The response from the Ministry of Education is that there are no issues with Teacher Supply and Workload in Level 1 Total Immersion settings.

NZEI TE RIU ROA therefore is gathering evidence to contest this statement.

All Level 1 Total Immersion Kura have been sent a survey to share their whakaaro on the response from the MOE.

Anei ngā pātai;

1. Appropriately qualified teachers is an issue for Kura. Is recruitment an issue in your Kura?

Ae / Kao Why?

2. How many Level 1 kaiako do you know have left the teaching profession?

How many? Where are they going to ?

3. How many Level 1 kaiako in your Kura need support to become fluent speakers of Te Reo Māori?

He aha tau whakaaro?   What are your thoughts?

Anei ētahi whakaaro mai te rohe o Taranaki. E toru nga kura kua kitea, kua kōrerohia i ngā kaupapa nei.

1. He raruraru tenei ki nga kura e toru.

3. Tokoiti noa iho nga kaiako matatau i te reo. Tokomaha nga kaiako pukumahi engari paku noa te reo.
