As part of the longer term work programme development of a model currently called the Advanced Skills
Teacher wa agreed to. This is an example of a skills based pay model.
It was agreed that it would be a qualification that includes a practice based component and would recognise exemplary classroom teaching.
Importantly, skills based pay is an alternative to performance pay. Earlier this year information was sent to all members about skills based pay and performance pay.
Members discussed the differences and endorsed skills based pay.
