How did your R & R focus groups go?

I assisted in the facilitation of our Whangarei meeting.  There was a lot to get through.  However most Primary Network members present had a basic understanding of the current political climate which helped us get into the proposed pay model.  The activities were well structured and clearly articulated.  They generated good discussion.  However in the timeframe we struggled to get to Leadership Development.  I would like to hold another meeting to cover that, before the cluster meetings in…See More

Tai Tokerau PRT Seminar

Thanks to the ten or so PRT's that came to our seminar during the holidays.  Most have not secured jobs yet however they are keen on relieving.  It was great to network with new teachers.  Thanks must also go to Angela Perrin for her sharing of PRT experiences with the group.  It was great to have a folder for the group to view & Angela's up-to-date insight provided a wealth of information.  I also appreciated receiving a birthday cake on the day.  Thanks Jane Marti.  I am looking…

World Teachers' Day Saturday 29th October Town Basin Whangarei

While the weather was less than 'the winterless north' at first, a great day was had by all.  Thanks to Frances Nelson for speaking.  You are an inspiration!  It was also great to hear from the Support Staff team, lead by Dianna Boyle. Thanks must also go to Julie Findlay for her ECE input.  Then there were wonderful performances by children from Manaia View School, Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School, Hora Hora School, Kamo Intermediate and Wellsford School. What class acts!  Children were so… Continue

Concerns about the lack of career pathways and the governments refusal to accept the Practice Based Attestation model were food for thought.  However as we lead up to our collective agreement negotiations next year, I hope more teachers share their opinions on the way… Continue
