Fairness at Work Rally!!!

WOW!!! What an amazing experience. I attended the rally today at Civic Square, Wellington, with lots of other NZEI colleagues and passionate members representing lots of our other NZ unions. What an great show of support. It was great to share the feeling, hear so many passionate speakers and also personal stories from others.Rallies like todays remind me that we are not alone but also how important it is that we ALL stand up and be counted. This 90 day rule affects us all! Not just a few.Look…See More

AC Chairs Meeting

I had the great pleasure of joining my Area Council Chair at the AC Chairs Meeting in Wellington yesterday. What a fantastic opportunity. It was so great to be amongst people from all over the country who were all speaking the same way, sharing great ideas. It was an excellent chance to build relationships and hear that we are not standing alone, together we stand.

Very motivating. We are a strong union. Make sure you keep in touch with your Area Council. They are working hard for all… Continue

GOVERNMENT SHAMEFULLY ALLOWS GENDER PAY GAP TO WIDEN

Have you read this update, just out in the emails. Just yet another example that the National Government does not value our workers. There are so many attacks on not just teachers, the strength of unions, worker access to unions, you name it. Now is the time that we all need to stand up and be counted.

Don't forget to send in your ECE postcards.

PUMS - North Canterbury

Hi all. A big ups to all those who have been out leading and supporting PUMs. I lead two meetings with the support of our wonderful field officer, Anne Harte. It was such a great opportunity to network and catch up with so many members who came along to have their say.

There is still a huge amount of work to be done out there. Don't forget our Orange Day of Action. The Christchurch and Ashley Branches along with the Waitaha Canterbury AC have some great orange t-shirts out and about.… Continue

Tena koe e hoa
Nga mihi nui ki a koe. Sorry we didn't get to have a catch up at the Nat Stds Day recently. I am currently in Wellington on negotiations and hope we will have some feedback soon for members. When I do I would love to come to Branch or AC to answer questions or concerns about whatever outcomes we face.
On another note the petition was presented today and well received by Catherine Delahuntly and Trevor Mallard. we wait with baited breath. Lol

Thanks for the support and your ongoing commitment to the union and profession. We are holding our meeting tomorrow afternoon, and there is a growing swell of disenchantment for sure. Stay tuned...
