Collective Agreement Negotiations

Last night I read Campaingn News 2010/4 and I'd like to note the efforts of our negotiating team in how they have addressed our issues / noted points raised at PUM's in the proposal. Well done team! Parity has to be maintained! The release time, tied to units is great - it links two important points - acknowledging that while a unit/s of pay is needed for recognising workload of those with leadership or mangement responsibilities it just isn't feasible to do all of the work in non-contact time;…See More

AP/DP's workload and release time.

There seems to be a huge range in the workloads of an AP and DP's, and in the amount of time out of the classroom that AP/DP's have to enable them to fulfill their leadership roles / responsibilities. One of the possible proposals coming through in the focus groups meetings on our next PTCA is for release time attached to units - this could affect all unit holders, but AP's and DP's are usually the biggest unit holders in a school.
